Integrated Modified Asphalt Production Plant

SBS Modified Asphalt Complete plant (Mobile, Fixed) System Module:

1.Thermal oil heating constant temperature control system

The production and processing of SBS modified asphalt must be carried out within a certain temperature range, which is determined by experiments with different grades of asphalt. Matching domestic high-quality thermal transfer oil heating furnace, pneumatic valve, temperature controller, heat-conducting oil, burner and program controller imported from Germany or Japan adopted to ensure the constant temperature control. Through automatic combustion and stop of heating furnace, circulating of heat-transfer oil, automatic opening and shutting of pneumatic valve, the heat is sent to each heating part and set by the temperature controller, so as to achieve temperature control automation.  

2.SBS, base asphalt ratio control system

Strict proportioning is one of the important elements to ensure the production of qualified modified asphalt. The precision of the proportioning of SBS and base asphalt can be ensured through the setting of the instrument and the interlocking control of PLC. The details are as follows:

After the SBS is broken, the weight is measured and sent to the weighing indicator or PLC, where the weight of the SBS is given and controlled. Base asphalt passes through the flowmeter under the action of the asphalt pump, flow signals of the base asphalt sent and converted into a weight signal; SBS and asphalt are added equally under the control of  the PLC program, and the accuracy of both is 0.5 level. 

3.High-speed shear homogenizing mill

The four-in-one asphalt colloid mill is mainly capable of mixing materials with solid particles or materials that have not been uniformly mixed in a spiral feeding method. After the materials enter the second shear zone, the large particles in the fluid follow the tapered coarse-toothed cutter blade enters the high-speed shearing and crushing area. Under the action of the high-speed centrifugal force of the rotor, the large particles in the fluid are thrown out of the cutter slot and sheared, crushed and mixed with the stator teeth to press the fluid into the colloid. In the grinding zone, as the gap in the grinding zone becomes smaller, the tooth pitch becomes shorter, the number of teeth doubles, and the shear rate continues to increase, the particles in the fluid will enter the homogenization zone after being continuously refined under high-speed shearing, grinding, and will have a tapered shape. The homogenization knife is installed on the extension of the colloid mill, so that the linear speed of the stator is longer and the homogenization microemulsification effect is better.

Features of four-in-one colloid mill: 

1)It has powerful mixing, shearing, grinding and homogenizing functions.

2)It can crush, grind, and homogenize various materials.

3)It can be equipped with heat preservation and cooling jacket.

4)The gap can be adjusted, and the adjustment distance is 0.01~3mm, which can reduce the  

    starting load and reduce energy consumption.

 5)38CrMoAl, 2205 can be used for the fixed grinding material, which can be nitrided or carburized.

4.Automation control system

The whole production process is controlled by an industrial computer or touch screen combined with PLC. The production process is displayed on the screen intuitively and vividly, which can dynamically reflect the changes in the production process, and set the necessary interlock protection, automatic alarm protection, and the daily and monthly output printing records, liquid level display and control, etc. 

5.Advanced and reasonable production process

This technological process combines advantages of both an assembly line process and a circular process, which can organically combine swelling, inoculation, and additive addition, and can meet the needs of various asphalt modification. It is composed of two swelling tanks, a transition tank, and a grinder, and the finished product inoculated for about 30 minutes is sent to the finished product tank or to the mixing plant.

6.Stabilizer, additives adding system

In order to meet the needs of different asphalt processing, complete set of equipment can be equipped with stabilizer adding device and auxiliary agent adding device. After the stabilizer is metered, the pump is directly added to the swelling tank. After grinding and reaction, the SBS particles and the asphalt can be combined tightly together, they can prevent segregation for a long period of time. The additives are added to the incubation tank after being metered when needed, which can effectively improve the performance indexes of the modified asphalt.
